ASHIATSU
A unique, specialized technique using feet to apply deep pressure to the body
Ashiatsu is the ultimate deep tissue massage experience, offering all the benefits without the pain or discomfort often associated with traditional techniques. Throughout your session, you will experience a gradual transition from Swedish massage to Integrated Deep Tissue, culminating in the Ashiatsu method, where consistent pressure is applied using the therapist's bare feet and body weight. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique that uses the therapist's feet to apply deep, broad, and consistent pressure to the client's body. "Ashiatsu" is Japanese, with "ashi" meaning "foot" and "atsu" meaning "pressure".
- Pressure -
Ashiatsu uses the therapist's weight and gravity to apply pressure, rather than force. This technique can provide a level of pressure that hands alone can't achieve.
- Suspension -
The therapist is suspended above the client using bars or ropes attached to the ceiling. This allows the therapist to maintain their balance and control the amount of body weight applied.
- Techniques -
Ashiatsu combines techniques from Thai massage, barefoot shiatsu, and Keralite foot massage.
